This is the original Spine Surgery Simulator, developed in 1998 by Creaplast in order to replace the use of human bodies for surgical training. More ethical, more economical and overall, more convenient than a true cadaver, the Spine Surgery Simulator is an inevitable tool for workshops and demonstrations.
One of its main advantages is the possibility to include a pathology on demand: Spondylolisthesis, Stenosis, Herniated Disc, Metastasis or Fracture. This is very interesting for testing and showing the efficacy of a specific range of instruments in a concrete situation.
The standard Lumbo-sacral model contains a T10-to-sacrum spine, with yellow and posterior ligament, nerve roots and dura matter. But you can ask for a shorter segment (be careful: this won't affect the size of the mannequin itself) and any other kind of customization.
If you are interested in medical imaging, we can provide you a special model, in which the spine is covered with an X-ray opac coating.
